Tulum Energy 101: Where You’re Going, What to Know, How to Flow

Welcome to the Jungle — Literally.

Kismet Pride is taking you to Tulum — a place where the jungle kisses the ocean and the energy is real. Whether it’s your first time visiting or you’ve been here before, this post is your quick, no-stress guide to what to expect and how to move with ease while you’re here.

Let’s set you up to thrive.

🛬 Getting to Tulum

  • Closest Airport:
    You have two options —
✈️ Tulum International (TQO) – Closest (brand new!)
✈️ Cancún International (CUN) – More flight options, 1.5–2 hour drive to Tulum

  • Transportation Tips:
When purchasing your ticket, it’s best to add-on The Kismet Shuttle Service for an easy and trusted way from the airport to the resort.

  • Schedule private transfer before you land — don't rely on finding one at the airport. We recommended using the very best of them: Black in Tulum for private car service.

💵 Money, Money, Money

  • Currency:
Mexican Pesos (MXN) — but USD is accepted in many tourist areas. You’ll often get a better deal if you pay in pesos.

  • TIPS:
Have cash on hand for taxis, tipping, and small vendors. Many ATMs in town only accept debit cards — and often run out of cash. Bring enough or use bank-branded ATMs when possible (avoid the flashy ones on the strip).

🌞 The Vibe & the Weather

  • Weather in AUGUST:
Expect heat, humidity, and moments of rain that pass quickly. Think 85–90°F daily with some steamy jungle energy.

  • What to Pack (Non-Fashion Edition):

    • Reef-safe sunscreen (it’s law + better for the environment)

    • Mosquito spray or citronella oil

    • Electrolytes or hydration packs

    • A hand fan or mini portable one

    • A light shawl or scarf for temples/dinners

    • A backup charger/power bank (trust us)
